Who says that back to school shopping has to be boring?
On a bright and sunny Saturday morning, a momma with her littlest daughter made their way to their favorite department store. The mission was quite clear, grab two first day of school outfits for kids of the house while having tons of fun in between. The momma had already checked the app for the store to ensure that any saving opportunities were already selected to ensure a smooth coupon trip. The soon to be first grader accepted the challenge and was ready to get her sensible savings on. The lovely ladies loaded up into the momma’s SUV and away they went.
Upon arriving at the department store, a coffee shop was calling to the ladies. While older of the two choose a brown sugar iced coffee, the younger selected a strawberry lemonade. There would be browsing through bags and adult size clothing, but the first real stop on the journey would be to the toys section to pick out possible birthday present options. A quick trip across the aisle way from the toys would be the pets section were cat food and a clearance cat tree would find their ways into the cart. The neighboring back to school section found a two pack of glue sticks jumping into the buggy. At the other end of the store had toiletries including hair detangler and kids toothpaste which were nearly out at home. As the registers began to present themselves, the children’s clothing department was found off to the left. Within a five minute search, the young shopper picked matching gray shirts with pink skorts that matched the color of the lettering on the tops.
The momma and her young shopper were awarded for a gift card for toiletries and multiple coupons were used on various items in the cart. Just how much savings will remain a mystery as the young shopper dropped the receipt which blew off prior to be caught by a passing shopper who offered to throw it in the trash. The trip had been a success and everyone had their outfit for the first day of school!
