What do you get when you mix crafting and melted chocolate?
We have done all the popular birthday ideas. We went jumping in indoor trampoline parks, played arcades in restaurants with a dancing mouse and did many other ideas in between. So when a chance meeting with a candy store operator presented itself, my eyes were opened to a new birthday idea. The candy store near our house rents out their building for parties and well, it sounded way too sweet to pass up. Hence, our youngest daughter had her 6th birthday party covered in chocolate.
The candy store had two floors with the second level being a small party room and that is the fun began. A pizza lunch was provided with snacks and juice. Once the always delicious Italian pies from a local restaurant were enjoyed, we then celebrated with cake. The child who loves a certain mouse who wears a bow between the ears elected something different and went with a tiger. The quarter sheet of half chocolate and half vanilla found most of its plates split between children as well as adults. Presents were opened after the pizza and after that, the real fun began.
The entire party made their way down the stairs and into the factory room where they were greeted with their very own workstations following a good handwashing. The workstations included cookie sandwiches, graham crackers (very popular in my house by the way), pretzels, marshmallows, chocolate candy and sprinkles. Many sprinkles. After instructions were handing out, the star of the show made its grand appearance. Each child received about cup or so of chocolate. There would be children dunking items into chocolate while others would dump everything they could into one pan. My youngest daughter even managed to dunk all of her fingers into the brown sweet goodness. Nothing would spared as there were stains on children clothing and faces. An amazing unique opportunity had been enjoyed by both children and spectators alike.
Following a good clean up of the children, they made their ways back upstairs to play some games while candy was prepared in fancy bags with bows. Each child received a gift bag from the birthday girl, a bag of the candy they made and the remainder of their work station to take home for additional fun. A good time would be had by all although there would be no hard naps on the way home!

This sounds like such a fun and creative party idea. Chocolate crafting is next-level birthday magic!
