I Heart You Fall

I rather wear a hoodie than shorts!

During the past week, we have made a number of changes to our routine. The water park does not close officially until Labor Day, but with the highs barely topping seventy degrees, nobody is venturing down the giant slide. Those sneakers that are covered in dirt have been replaced by school shoes during the day and cleats in the evening. The jive of shorts and tee-shirts have since been replaced with the debate to wear a hoodie or not. The judgment of choosing the travel coffee mug over the name brand forty ounce water cup will no longer controversial. Oh, autumn is near!

The thoughts of pumpkin dance in my brain. Jump around you orange gourds! I just cannot get enough pumpkin coffee running through my veins and see various pumpkin delicacies at the bakery. A yearly trip to the pumpkin patch is always in order and maybe we’ll come home with multiple colors like last year. Smelling like pumpkins up in this place? Of course, give me some orange candles and hand lotion too!

There will be lots of fall crafting, naturally! There will be painting fall wood decor and the Jack-O-Lanterns will make their debut right before trick or treat night. There will be stuffing leaves into Halloween bags to sit in the front while a black cat blowup sits in front of the house. There may be a couple of fall knitting or crocheting on the horizon as the sun sets a little earlier each evening. We may even bring the sewing machine out for a little costume making if we do not see something that strikes our fancy.

Step aside summer children and hold off winter babies, fall is just around the corner. I will happily wear my hoodies with older classic sneakers while sipping my pumpkin spice latte at the soccer field. I will enjoy the cool breeze while the softball players round the bases. Don’t see my lawn mower as much? Never fear, my rake will collect the leaves with care. Fall is here!
