Busting At The Seams

Lexi the Cat had a purr-plexing situation on her paws.

A stuffed animal’s job is simply never done. Whether it is being played with or providing loving emotion support, it is always taxing on the seams. So when Lexi woke up on Friday morning, her back was unraveling one string at a time. This could not be good, thought the faithful cat, I must hide my stuffing that is busting out my backside.

When Lexi’s owner began to stir, she hid a little further under the sheet and allowed Mango the Tiger to take the spotlight. Without a hitch, the plan went successfully and Lexi waited for Momma the Toy Doctor to find her. As Momma began to make the bed, the stuffed cat looked pitifully as the more mature eyes saw the growing problem, all two inches long with soft stuffing climbing out. Scanning the room, it began extremely apparent to Momma what needed to be done.

Leaving the child’s bed just how it was, Momma went into the craft room for needle and thread. There would be no hunter gray to make the purrfect new seam, but the fur that Lexi the Cat had in abundance would help with covering the slight white scar. With about ten stitches placed on the back, the stuffing would now be hidden once again. Momma and Lexi were both satisfied with the result and the cat was placed next to Margo who was enjoying the storybook the young owner was reading aloud. My dearest child will not notice any of the drama, sighed the fluffy toy, and I still got my morning story!
